Josveek O. Huligar Stone Restoration Specialist Operator of Huligar Stone Restoration Born: 5/12/1974 Birthplace: St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands Contact: 1.264.772.5474 / 1.866.865.2897 Josveek O. Huligar grew up in Anguilla, British West Indies, where his family owned and operated an Auto Mechanic and Body Shop. There he honed metal work skills from the tender age of 4. In 1992 Huligar relocated to New York City and his finessed expertise in metal alteration and presentation was expanded to natural stone. His first exposure was in a Building Maintenance training program offered by Royal Realty in Manhattan. Huligar mastered the expertise required in the 4 month program in 2 weeks and was hired by the organization to restore the natural stone in 15 commercial properties in Manhattan. Thus he expanded his knowledge, capability and proficiency. After “learning by doing” with the organization for two years he became acquainted with Mr. Donnatelle of Eastern Marble Granite Supplies. Mr. Donnatelle mentored and expanded Mr. Huligar’s expertise in natural stone restoration and preservation as a source of growth and inspiration to Huligar from 1994 to the present. Before meeting Mr. Donatelle, Huligar experienced major difficulty finding experts in the industry to learn from and share information. So, he spearheaded the formation of The Natural Stone Restoration Alliance in 2004 to provide current and prospective professionals with mentors and resources to expand knowledge on natural stone restoration and preservation. In addition, as of 2004 Huligar facilitates hands on workshops for the stone restoration industry which focuses on post installation issues. In 2002 Huligar became the lead consultant with Huligar Stone Restoration. With this organization he consults with and/or provides service for Big Box Companies, and small upscale boutique natural stone suppliers. A highlight in his career was being selected to polish one of the largest blocks of Granite known to New York for the world trade center memorial: The Freedom Stone. Huligar not only polished the stone but also made major repairs to the granite which is still unnoticeable today. |
