It is very common to find some chipping of corners and edges of the countertop during installation process. This is more often found in granite. It is most often caused by handling (or mishandling) the countertops. Obviously, it is best to handle the stone very gently to avoid these problems all together. In the case that you do make a mistake in handling the stone, repairs can be made to the stone to make it very appealing.
